The empty itinerary is the hardest part of planning a trip. Name a destination and how long you have, and you get real cities, real sights, and a sensible order to see them in, ready to be pulled apart.
1. Say where you want to go
Pick one destination or several, how many days you have, and whether you want famous highlights or hidden gems.
2. Reshape the draft
Swap cities, add day trips and rest days, drag sights between days, and add the stops and scenic roads you already had in mind. Or let Autocompose fill a day, a whole stop, or a new one it suggests.
3. Bring everyone along
Invite the people you are travelling with to edit the same plan, or send a view-only link to everyone else.

Is JourneyComposer really free?
Yes. You can autocompose a complete day-by-day trip and plan every part of it without paying, however many trips you make, sharing each trip with up to 3 invited travel companions and unlimited view-only links. A paid Plus tier adds Autocompose inside an existing trip, bigger autocomposed trips, unlimited collaborators, live calendar sync, GPX export, and higher storage limits. Where the app suggests a train, bus, ferry, flight, or travel eSIM, those links are affiliate links, which is how the project covers its running costs.
Does Autocompose use AI?
No. Autocomposed trips come from a fixed set of rules applied to open travel data from Wikivoyage and Wikidata, so the same answers come back for the same request and nothing is invented. You always see the proposed cities and sights before anything is saved, and you can swap any of them. That goes for autocomposing a new trip and for filling days inside one you have already started alike.
Do I need an account?
You need a free account to save places and build trips, since everything is tied to you and stays private. Anyone you send a share link to can open that trip without an account.
Who can see my trips?
Only you, the people you explicitly invite to a trip, and anyone holding a share link you created. Trips are private by default and never listed publicly.
Can I get my data out again?
Yes. You can export your whole account from your profile on any plan, and download any trip as a PDF or a one-off calendar file. Plus additionally offers GPX export and a live calendar subscription.
Is there a mobile app?
A native app for iOS and Android is in development and already covers most of the planning: trips, Autocompose, sights, packing, costs, and offline reading of a trip you have opened. It is not in the app stores yet, so use the site in your phone browser for now.
